Home » House Rules
1. Arrive on time We open the doors 10 minutes before class. If you are later, come in quietly, without noise. We do not wait for anyone.
2. Leave your shoes at the entrance The room is a sacred space – clean feet, clear mind. Slippers or non-slip socks are fine. Barefoot is best.
3. Phone on silent No ringtones, no vibrations, no selfies during practice. If you really must, step out into the corridor. We do not go live from our asanas.
4. Lay out your mat with respect Do not kick anyone in the head, do not block the walkway. If someone is next to you, leave 50 cm of space. Do not move someone else's mat.
5. No talking during practice Conversations happen before and after. During practice there is silence. Do not comment on anyone else's postures, not even in a whisper.
6. Breathe If it hurts, change the position. If it hurts a lot, tell the teacher. Do not play the hero – this is not a competition.
7. Do not eat before class At least 2 hours after a meal. A full stomach means nausea in a twist. A light piece of fruit or tea is fine.
8. Water – yes, but quietly
9. Scent – natural only No heavy perfumes, oils or deodorants. If you smell of sweat, that is perfectly normal.
10. Tidy up after class Roll up your mat, take your rubbish, wipe the floor if you left any marks. Do not leave a mess behind you.
11. Respect for the teacher and the group If someone irritates you, say nothing. If the teacher irritates you, find another class.
12. Safety over ego Do not do anything beyond your limits. Do not pretend to be advanced. Five minutes in child's pose is better than a month in hospital.
And finally:
This room is not a gym.
It is a place where the body meets the breath, and the ego meets silence.
Respect that, and you will come back.
There is time before class to settle payments (cash preferred) – come 15 minutes earlier, you are warmly invited to a quiet cup of tea and a chat🙏🌷
